Amber Blackston

Professional Counselor Associate

Amber Blackston is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (Supervised by Kimberly Parker, MS, LPC-S, LCDC) who is passionate about walking alongside adults as they heal from emotional wounds—particularly those rooted in childhood trauma, narcissistic relationships, or major life transitions such as divorce or career changes.

Amber earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Texas Woman’s University and her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and integrates trauma-informed, attachment-based, and person-centered approaches to meet clients where they are. She works especially well with individuals who feel stuck in patterns of codependency, anxiety, depression, or relational overwhelm—often while appearing high-functioning in other areas of life.

Clients are drawn to Amber’s calm presence and her ability to name what’s difficult to articulate. Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked in ministry and nonprofit settings focused on human resources and leadership development. These roles strengthened her capacity to hold space with empathy, discernment, and purpose. Today, she brings that same intentionality into the therapy room—helping clients rewrite harmful narratives and walk in emotional and spiritual wholeness.

Amber believes healing doesn’t mean erasing the past—it means reclaiming your voice, restoring your sense of self, and living in alignment with who you were created to be. She specializes in helping individuals explore the root causes of their pain and move toward confidence, clarity, boundaries, and peace. Faith-based counseling is available for those who desire to integrate their spiritual beliefs into the healing process.

Whether you’re navigating the loss of a relationship, the impact of a painful upbringing, or the quiet unraveling of who you thought you had to be, Amber offers a safe and nonjudgmental space for meaningful growth. Her mission is to help clients move from surviving to truly living—with intention, integrity, and hope. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, running, and spending time with family.
